On May 26, the People's Government of Zhuhai City issued a notice on the issuance of the Work Plan for the Continuous Improvement of Air Quality in Zhuhai City.

The document stated that it is necessary to promote the use of clean and low-carbon transportation and operational tools. All newly added or replaced buses shall use electric vehicles (EVs) or hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. All newly added or replaced taxis and online ride-hailing vehicles connected to platforms shall use new energy vehicles (NEVs). The proportion of NEVs and energy-efficient vehicles among newly added or replaced official vehicles each year shall be no less than 60%, with the proportion of NEVs in principle being no less than 30%. The use of NEVs is encouraged for official car rentals. The proportion of NEVs used for newly added or replaced urban logistics distribution vehicles, light postal and express delivery vehicles, and light sanitation vehicles shall exceed 80%. Measures such as designating restricted traffic zones shall be implemented to phase out diesel trucks that meet the China III vehicle emission standards.
